Buying A Domain Name? Buy The Cheapest Then Transfer To Cloudflare

If you are a beginner and if you are not careful, you will be surprised with inflated renewal fees and unexpected hidden add-on charges. But it doesn't have to be that way. Here's how.

Usually, domain registrars will offer discounts when you buy a domain name for the first time. And it's great because you can buy a domain name for a remarkably low price. But you must be careful with the renewal fee and in purchasing unnecessary add-ons like domain privacy and SSL when you can avail them for free.

Buy the cheapest.

I suggest that you buy your domain name from the registrar that offers the lowest price. Don't worry because we'll immediately transfer it (will explain later).

Here's a tip: don't immediately go to the website of the registrar. Do a Google search first. In most cases, they have an advertisement that offers promos and discounts. Use that to your advantage. Some ads might not work if you already visited the sites several times. In this case, use Incognito Mode.

Google "GoDaddy" and you will see an ad for P259 .com domain name.

Some registrars offer prices in the local currency, so consider that as well. Charges may appear cheaper but, when converted to your local currency, they are more expensive. So do the math well.

Avoid add-ons that you don't need.

During checkout, make sure that you only buy what you need to buy. Several registrars have other add-ons selected by default, so it pays to scrutinize and review your cart and the total price. Take your time, don't hurry.

Always review the checkout page, especially the total price, because many add-ons are checked by default.

After purchase, transfer it to Cloudflare.

First, what is Cloudflare, and why transfer your domain to them?

You can securely manage your domain names with transparent pricing  - wholesale pricing for all domains. There is no markup, no surprise renewal fees, and no hidden add-on charges. You only pay what they pay. That's it.
